A surprise revelation was beautiful George Town. And the area’s colonial and nautical history is tangible at Low Head.
So it was on to one of the most anticipated parts of our Tasmanian trip – the Bay of Fires. But before I get to that lovely part of the world, I have to mention a couple of interesting spots along the drive from George Town (the subject of my previous blog).
There are some places that just take your breath away when you first see them – and for me that is normally a natural wonder. I’ve got to say that when I walked down through the trees next to the historic site entry point and came to first view the Penitentiary building, well, it was something special.
If you’re thinking about taking a trip to Tasmania, think about how enjoyable a cruise by ship would be. And you have the benefit of taking your own vehicle!
